Monday Man Food - Johnsonville Bratwurst Patties

Johnsonville has been know for making some of the tastiest brats and Italian sausages for years, however recently they have taken their staple product and broadened it's horizons, or they just took a brat and smashed it so it will fit on a hamburger bun. Either way these are perfect for the back yard grill and I must say I finished off a 6 pack box in a matter of days (by myself). Yeah they were that good. Available in your local freezer section check these out as they will be the hit of your next BBQ or tailgate.

Weekend Wisdom - Lt. Ronald Spiers

The only hope you have is to accept the fact that you're already dead. The sooner you accept that, the sooner you'll be able to function as a soldier is supposed to function: without mercy, without compassion, without remorse. All war depends upon it. - Lt. Ronald Spiers (Band Of Brothers)

Thirsty Thursday - Great Lakes The Wright Pils

So this is the first in a new Thursday series I call Thirsty Thursday. Each week I will bring you a new beer that I have tried, I don't give a shit how it pours or how many fingers of head there is. I am not a pretentious dick and only care if it tastes good, I mean hell after a six pack even Bush Light tastes good. So let's start off with one that is close to home for me:

Being from Dayton, Ohio (The true birthplace of Aviation, Fuck off North Carolina) an Ohio brewing company Great Lakes introduced in 2010 The Wright Pils, however this beer was only available at the Great Lakes store until it went into distribution in mid 2012. This beer was meant to honor those two legends of powered flight Orville and Wilbur Wright. All in all I have to say this beer was not bad, it is very drinkable with no real bitterness. Between the story and the beer I think Great Lakes has a winner here, the only downside it's a seasonal only beer that is available only during the summer months.

Two Recipe Tuesday - Crock Pot Beer Chicken

When cooking with a crock pot one must remember the golden rule: Anything goes! Crock pots have been around since the early 70's and as time has passed the recipes they are used for have grown from your average chili or beef stew to include such delicacies as Salsa Chicken and Cola Chicken. Recently another variant of the kicked up chicken in a crock pot recipe has surfaced. Crock Pot Beer Chicken. At first being a skeptic on how this might taste I was pleased as it ended up being pretty damn good. The beauty of the crock pot lies also in the fact that even an idiot can operate this man food making tool. Here is our kicked up Crock Pot Beer Chicken recipie:

4 Fresh or Frozen Chicken Breasts
1 bottle of premium beer (crap beer tastes like crap and bottles are better, PERIOD!)
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder

1/2 tsp Mexican Chili Powder
1/2 tsp Black Pepper
1/2 tsp Sea Salt

Place all of the ingredients in the crock pot and cook on high for 4-6 hours (from frozen). Serve with some sort of vegetable so you don't look like a total douche and finish off the remaining beers. The only thing that might make this meal better......next time add in some crushed up bacon.
